Family Based Greencards and Visas

Family based immigrant visas are, for the most part, self explanatory. U.S. citizens and some lawful permanent residents may petition for foreign born family members to become lawful permanent residents of the U.S. There are many different categories of family based petitions. Different familial relationships will determine which category a petition falls under, and most categories are allocated a limited number of greencards which are issued per category per year.
